Assembly Steps

Follow these 4 steps in order. Each step matches the assembly video and the model-specific PDF manual.

1

Install the Handlebar

The handlebar must be inserted at least 2 inches deep into the head tube. A shallow insertion is a safety risk. Do not skip the depth check.

  1. Insert the handlebar into the head tube, pushing it down at least 2 inches deep.
  2. Align the handlebar so it is straight and centered with the front wheel.
  3. Fasten the screw in the middle position of the handlebar by turning it clockwise until the handlebar is held securely.
  4. Wrap the soft handlebar pad around the center of the handlebar.
  5. Fasten the pad in place by pressing the velcro straps firmly together.
Check: The handlebar should not rotate or pull upward when tested. The pad should not shift when squeezed.
2

Attach the Front Wheel

The axle retention devices go on before the axle bolts. Install them in the correct order to ensure the wheel stays securely in place.

  1. Remove the axle bolts and retention devices from the front wheel.
  2. Insert the wheel axle between the fork tubes so the axle fits into the slots at the end of the fork blades.
  3. Install the axle retention devices on each side of the axle.
  4. Install the axle bolts on each side of the axle.
  5. Use the included adjustable wrench to tighten the axle bolts securely.
Check: The wheel should spin freely without wobbling side to side. If it wobbles, re-check that both axle bolts are tightened evenly.
3

Install the Seat

Set the seat height before locking the clamp. A good starting height lets your child sit with both feet flat on the ground and a slight bend in the knee.

  1. Insert the seat post into the seat tube on the frame.
  2. Slide the post to your child's correct seat height. See the seat height adjustment section below for guidance.
  3. Fasten the seat clamp by turning the screw clockwise until snug.
  4. Press the lever down firmly to lock the seat post in place.
Check: The seat should not twist or slide up and down when you apply pressure. If it moves, re-tighten the clamp and press the lever down again.
Tip: The seat height range for the KB-BMX01 is 15" to 22.6". See the seat height adjustment section below for step-by-step resizing instructions.
4

Install the Kickstand

  1. Position the kickstand on the designated mounting point on the frame.
  2. Align the kickstand bracket with the mounting holes.
  3. Insert and fasten both screws by turning them clockwise.
  4. Tighten both screws securely using the included assembly tools.
Check: The kickstand should hold the bike upright without wobbling. Test it by standing the bike on the kickstand before handing it to your child.

Seat Height Adjustment

The KB-BMX01 seat is adjustable between 15" and 22.6". You can re-adjust the height as your child grows without any extra tools.

The right seat height lets your child sit with both feet flat on the ground and a slight bend at the knee. If their legs are fully straight or they cannot reach the ground, adjust the height before riding.

How to Adjust the Seat Height

  1. Press the lever on the seat clamp upward to release it.
  2. Turn the clamp screw counterclockwise a few turns to loosen.
  3. Slide the seat post up or down to the new height.
  4. Turn the clamp screw clockwise until snug.
  5. Press the lever firmly back down to lock the post in place.
  6. Ask your child to sit on the seat and confirm they can place both feet flat on the ground.

Do not raise the seat above the maximum height mark on the seat post. The minimum insertion depth marking must remain inside the frame at all times.

FAQ

How deep does the handlebar need to be inserted?
The handlebar must be inserted at least 2 inches deep into the head tube. A minimum insertion depth mark is printed on the handlebar stem. That mark must not be visible above the head tube when the bike is assembled. Do not ride the bike if the handlebar is not fully seated.
How do I know the front wheel is installed correctly?
The wheel should spin freely without wobbling side to side. Both axle bolts must be tightened evenly using the included adjustable wrench. If the wheel wobbles, loosen both bolts, re-seat the axle in the fork slots, and tighten again.
What is the correct seat height for my child?
The right height lets your child sit on the seat with both feet flat on the ground and a slight bend at the knee. The KB-BMX01 seat adjusts between 15" and 22.6". Start lower and raise the seat gradually as your child's confidence grows.
How do I adjust the seat height after assembly?
Press the clamp lever upward, loosen the clamp screw counterclockwise, slide the seat post to the new height, tighten the screw clockwise, and press the lever back down to lock. Always confirm the minimum insertion depth mark stays inside the frame.
The kickstand wobbles after installation. What should I check?
Check that both kickstand screws are fully tightened. If one screw is loose, the kickstand will shift under the weight of the bike. Use the included tools to re-tighten both screws, then test by standing the bike on the kickstand before riding.
Do the tires need to be inflated before riding?
The KB-BMX01 uses air tires. Check the recommended tire pressure printed on the tire sidewall before your child's first ride. Use a standard bike pump with a Schrader valve head to inflate. Under-inflated tires affect balance and control.
What should I do if a part is missing or damaged?
Stop assembly and contact support at anita@bicystar.com. Include your model number (KB-BMX01), your shipping address, and a photo or short video of the issue so the team can help you faster. You can also browse available replacement parts directly.
